I told Aspen that we were going out to eat at a nice restaurant with friends. We rarely dress up to go out, so it may have seemed out of the ordinary when I asked her to dress up. After picking her up, I was able to convince her that the other couple was running late, and we should pass the time by taking pictures at her favorite spot on the campus of UCO.

Aspen is the greatest person I know. She is so driven and passionate about everything she does. She has a heart for so many great causes and loves to help in numerous organizations. She motivates me and makes me a better man. She is my best friend, and spending the rest of my life with her is a privilege I will probably never understand, but I will never take it for granted. I love every aspect about her, and life with her is the best life possible.

The Old North Tower on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma is the oldest building of higher learning in Oklahoma, and Aspen’s favorite building on campus. After taking a few pictures, I told her how much she meant to me and how I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. After that, I dropped to a knee, and asked my best friend to be my wife.

I was able to pull this off with the help of some of our friends and my sister. They helped with all of the planning- from getting Aspen’s nails done, to helping pick out her outfit for the night.

We were able to get the entire moment captured with the J. David Ring Cam and a photographer who did an amazing job. Later that night, I was able to surprise Aspen by taking her to her parents’ house where some of our closest friends and family were waiting to celebrate our engagement. It was a great way to end such an unforgettable night.
